... let me tell you about myself & Tyler Art School
Interrupting a successful career as an artist in the New Orleans area, Hurricane Katrina landed me in Tyler so I could be near my grandkids! Friendly, beautiful Tyler!
After 10 years teaching Middle and Upper School Art at All Saints Episcopal School here in Tyler, I've retired, but not really...
Teaching art is so much fun, I'm continuing and have opened Tyler Art School. Here, at my home (3615 Woodbine Blvd.) I've created a bright and sunny teaching studio!
A semester of once-a-week art lessons for students age 8 and older begins after Labor Day with a second semester starting in January. Adult classes are on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. Fun week-long camps for kiddos happen June thru mid-August. Private lessons are available, email or text me.
Let me know if you are interested!
Semester (Fall or spring) classes:
While the summer camps are pure fun with lots of artsy-crafty projects, the "school-year", semester art classes focus, in a relaxed way, on developing essential foundational skills in drawing, painting, collage, and printmaking (with an occasional 3-D project). Lessons are based on the Elements of Art and the Principles of Design and contain meaningful references to Art History.
Summer Camp registration will open March1, 2020!
Camps fill up so quickly, please don't delay your registration!
Thank you for your interest in Tyler Art School!
